Everything feels like too much.

You wake up already tired. Not the kind of tired sleep can fix, but the kind that lives in your bones and whispers that today will be just as heavy as yesterday.

The smallest decisions feel enormous. Answering a text, making a phone call, choosing what to eat. Things that should be simple feel like they require everything you have left.

You’ve been running on empty for so long that you’ve forgotten what “full” even feels like. You just keep going because stopping doesn’t feel like an option.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not weak. You’re carrying more than one person should carry alone.

The past won't stay in the past.

You thought you’d moved on. You built a life, you kept going, you did everything “right.” But the memories still come back uninvited. A sound, a smell, a certain look on someone’s face, and suddenly you’re right back there.

Your body remembers things your mind has tried to forget. The tightness in your chest, the racing heart, the feeling of being frozen in place. These aren’t just memories. They’re your nervous system reliving something it never fully processed.

You’ve tried pushing through. You’ve tried ignoring it. You’ve tried telling yourself it was a long time ago and it shouldn’t still matter. But it does still matter, because it’s still living in your body.

Trauma doesn’t follow a timeline. And healing from it isn’t about forgetting. It’s about finally allowing your nervous system to understand that the danger has passed.

Trapped in a cycle of hopelessness.

You’ve tried to change things. You’ve started new routines, set goals, told yourself “this time will be different.” But the weight always comes back, and with it the familiar feeling that maybe nothing will ever really change.

The worst part isn’t the sadness. It’s the numbness. The going through the motions. The feeling of watching your own life from the outside, unable to reach in and grab hold of it.

People around you see someone who’s holding it together. But inside, you feel like you’re barely treading water. And you’re exhausted from pretending otherwise.

This cycle isn’t proof that you’re broken. It’s your mind and body telling you they need something different from what you’ve been giving them.

You've tried to handle it on your own.

You’ve read the books. You’ve tried meditation apps, journaling, breathing exercises. You’ve Googled your symptoms at 2 AM and tried to diagnose what’s going on inside your own head.

Some of it helped for a little while. But relief never lasted. The anxiety crept back in, the mood dropped again, the old patterns returned like they’d never left.

You’ve even wondered if this is just who you are now. If the version of you who felt lighter and more alive is gone for good. That’s not a failure of willpower. That’s the sound of someone who’s been fighting alone for too long.

Self-help can only take you so far because it can only work with what you already know. Therapy works because it gives you access to what you don’t know yet – the patterns underneath the patterns.

Don't carry everything alone.

You don't have to figure this out by yourself. You never did. That belief – the one that says you should be able to handle everything on your own – is part of what's keeping you stuck.

Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign that you're ready to stop surviving and start actually living. That takes more courage than most people will ever understand.

There is a version of your life where you're not constantly fighting yourself. Where you feel grounded, where the weight has lifted, where you can breathe again.

That life isn't as far away as it feels right now. And you don't have to walk toward it alone.

Teresa Snow, LPC

Hi, I'm Teresa.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) in the state of Georgia. I work with adults 18+ who are navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and the kinds of emotional pain that don’t always have simple names.

My approach to therapy is steady and grounded. I don’t rush. I don’t push. I create a space where you can slow down enough to actually hear what’s happening inside you, maybe for the first time in a long time.

I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed CBT, or Polyvagal Theory. But underneath all the techniques is something simpler: a real human connection where you feel safe enough to be honest.

I know what it’s like to sit across from someone and wonder if they really understand. I take that seriously. My job isn’t to fix you. It’s to walk alongside you while you find your own strength.

If you’re ready to start, or even if you’re just curious, I’d love to hear from you. Reach out for a free consultation.

How I Help

Individual Counseling

Practical, compassionate support tailored to your unique experience and needs.

Trauma

Processing past experiences that continue to affect how you feel and function today.

Mood Disorders

Navigating bipolar, depression, and emotional instability with steady, evidence-based care.

Grief

Finding your way through loss, life transitions, and the weight of what’s changed.

Build a more stable, balanced life.

Imagine waking up without dread. Imagine going through your day and actually being present for it – not just performing your way through it while your mind runs worst-case scenarios in the background.

Imagine being able to think about the past without your whole body clenching. Imagine setting a boundary without guilt. Imagine trusting yourself again.

This isn't wishful thinking. This is what happens when you give your nervous system what it needs to heal: safety, patience, and a guide who knows the way.

The ancient oaks survive storms not because they're rigid but because they're deeply rooted. Therapy helps you build those roots.
